The Apple iPad 2 is the most recent tablet device offered through Apple--the same company that offered up the iPad a couple of years ago. Although the iPad was very popular and well received, there were also criticisms, and Apple is hoping that the new version will address these issues. In this article we are going to look into the iPad 2 in an attempt to help you decide whether or not you actually want to invest in it.
iPads are not only useful for viewing web pages and communicating with people, they also have a feature that makes it easy to print. Every iPad is equipped with Wi-Fi capability and whenever you are near a wireless network you can print things out with just a couple of taps. Wireless printing is available even without your downloading any drivers, applications or software. This is useful for plenty of things especially since these days everything is downloadable from concert tickets to flight boarding passes. When you are assigned a paper for work or school you can leave the printing until the last minute which gives you more time for writing and editing.
AirPlay is a feature that lets you send content to your speakers or to your HDTV from your iPad. So when you find something on your iPad like a video you want to watch on a different device all you have to do is tap your AirPlay icon. There is one catch; to get AirPlay to work correctly, you need to spend the $100 or so to buy a device called Apple TV. The good news is that, with Apple TV, you can also stream things from your iPod Touch and your iPhone to your HDTV. If you like to watch YouTube videos, for example, you can load them on your iPad and then watch them on a larger screen.
The iPad 2, like everything else released by Apple, has a bunch of accessories that you can purchase. Just about the most popular accessory on the market is the Smart Cover because it both decorates and protects the device. The covers come in all sorts of different colors, are durable but thin and adhere magnetically to the iPad. One other extremely popular accessory is the Apple Wireless Keyboard which makes it so much easier to type things into the iPad and allows you to type no matter what screen orientation the iPad currently sits in. Another popular accessory is the Apple Digital AV adapter which attaches your iPad to your HDTV and allows you to watch videos easier. Obviously, the iPad 2 isn't cheap and if you want to buy accessories you'll have to figure their prices into your budget.
How you plan to use an iPad is something that should be carefully considered before purchase to decide if it is worth the investment. Many people love their iPads, while those who are disappointed are usually those who expect it to do things it wasn't really designed for.
