Windows 7 – How Soon Should You Upgrade?
May 25th, 2010 by admin

go.tagjag.com - I opened the phone lines a few nights ago, asking the community to call in to talk about Windows 7. We had some excellent discussions. This particular call was from Ray, asking me about whether he should upgrade his Windows 7 RC 1 to the full/final release now... or wait a bit. We also talked about differences in the different versions available of Windows 7, and what may work best for his needs. chris.pirillo.com - http

People are just fooled by the new look. I assure for by november of 2010, people will hate 7 just as much as vista. Chris is a big mac user.. so I think he may just kinda overlook 7′s problems due to his affilation with it. I actually had a 62 yr old man whos laptop i worked on (had win7) tell me that he hated windows 7 because it just was blue screening on him (He said the computer just got a blue screen then shut down). I told him I would install XP for him and he said it felt like it was xmas

Im personally running xp, I had Windows 7 (Waste of $118.00) but it took 3 days for it to crash. Honestly, The only changes I saw were some flashy cover ups for a bad operating system. It will take some time for people to realise that its not a good operating system but they will. Honestly, if you can’t shell out $20 to by a copy of XP on ebay, then you should head right over to linux’s forum and download ubuntu. (You’ll probably get more support there anyways…)

I did look at their site too. Nothing there.

Sry, but you should have looked for drivers before you bought the OS…
It’s known that if the wern’t already drivers for Vista, where won’t be any for Win7..

Btw: Your “Dell Optiplex…” says nothing; It’s just the name Dell gave to a bunch of pc-components they assembled to an pc.
True information would be: which GPU-Chipset (e.g. Nvidia 285 gtx)
    which Mainboard-Chipset, which printer…

You should look for drivers on the websites from the company who actualy engeneered these chipsets/etc.

As a student you can get Windows 7 for only $43. Good until Jan. 3rd.

It is actually $30 if you are happy just downloading it, but I paid a little extra to get an actual physical CD of it. I downloaded it too, but I also have the sealed CD pack if I decide to resell later.

There aren’t any for Vista either! I have a Dell Optiplex GX270.

I would bet it was the RC1 and not the final RTM

It is – and done it myself without noticeable errors during the public beta – possible to use drivers for Vista in Win7, since te driver-model is almost identical

Real problem is only if there arn’t even drivers for vista.
