Was not compatible with my HP laptop as described. Took it into Best Buy and the store tested it and said it did not give enough power for my laptop, as it was advertised to do. Ended up spending a lot more money at Best Buy to purchase an AC Adapter/power cord that would function problem free.

The cost tied with free shipping makes it a good deal. The adapter replaces the broken original HP adapters for a series HP laptops that use the same adapter model. The originals have been replaced before, so decided to go inexpensive. So far the net resultis we saved money and no real down side. The shorter cord maybe a problem for some but takes less room in one’s bag also. Will purchase more as we expect a few more the original HP’s to fail.

When my charger for the HP G50 laptop quit working my first place to get a replacement was from the place where it was purchaced. $85. 00 plus tax, WOW! I then went to a repair facility, they turned me onto this provider, and I am glad they did. I had the charger on the morning of the third day for $12. 33 total, which includes being delivered to my home. The only reason I didn’t give five stars was no body is prefect, but they have to be darn close. The product works fine, and when I am in need of anything again, I will return.

The only reason I gave this product 3 stars is because it does what it’s supposed to. When my laptop battery gets low, it charges the battery. It also was a rather decent price for someone looking to find a cheap replacement.

This product also has some major flaws. First of all, it takes an extremely long period of time to charge my battery- much longer than the last cord I had. This cord also is rather short. I’m sure you could probably find it in a longer length, which is something I would recommend doing. A cord this short is not really the most convenient option when your power source is on the other side of the room. Last, but by no means least, is the adapter. That little box gets so hot that it burned my arm multiple times. It also damaged the leather on my couch slightly. I’m not sure if this is due to a product malfunction, or if it really is just that poorly made. Either way, I would definitely recommend finding a different power cord.

When I first received the cord,I was disappointed that it was so short. But it worked, it was cheap and I was okay with the inconvenience. But then the wire near the power brick broke and the charger became useless. Only good thing was that I was able to return it to Amazon. I then replaced it with one from a different manufacture- optimum solutions. Although the description did not specifically refer to my model (DV4) it referenced the same HP part number. It was cheaper, is a significantly longer, than the product referenced above and it works! I have only owned it a day. Hopefully it will lasts longer than 30 days.
