If the left speaker didn’t short out from time to time I might be happy. I wouldn’t buy this company again. To disapointed to go through the return so I’m stuck with it. My advise,Don’t buy this company.

The Good: These speakers are very inexpensive, they look nice, they’re light, they fill up the room with a decent amount of sound, they sound better than a laptop and most other computer speakers.
The cons: these speakers do not have a smooth response. The sound is very directional.
I read all the reviews and knew that everyone had all different expectations of these, some loved them and there were a few who thought they were trash. The short story is these are not Martin Logans or Klipsh by any means, but. . . they do sound good, especially for the money. The sound is not flat, it seems to have a real high end drop off and the mids are not all that great. The bass is exaggerated, etc. However, most computers have DSP modes that will let you equalize the sound sufficiently. Yea, I was disappointed in the initial sound, but once I realized these were less than $50 and they got loud enough without horrible distortion and that I could EQ the sound enough to where I liked the sound, hey! Not bad at all. I did notice that the sound is very directional: you have to point the speakers where you want most of the sound. If the two satellites are obstructed by anything, you won’t like the sound. The sub is not a Velodyne either. It does add enough low end you can feel the bass and it’s not all that thumpy either. I don’t think you’ll drive your neighbors away with this. You can control how much bass independently.
I didn’t experience any background noise even after I plugged my laptop into its power brick. Some people had complained about this. No, they worked fine right out of the box. If you’re looking for sub $30 speakers that sound like you spent $1,000, then keep looking. If you want something you can fill up an office, bed room and small apartment with, then consider these. I’m happy with them. I may use these for my TV later too.

I have spent much more in the past for speakers that just plain suck. I was a little surprised at how “affordable” these were. Then, I hooked them up first try, an achievement for me. Next, turned them on and tossed in a DVD on my new computer.
Honestly, I don’t know how they can make these for the kind of money I spent, and ship free on top of that. They sound great.
If you seek a nice set of “budget” speakers, I don’t think you will be disappointed with these.

As others have said, this system sounds great for this price range. I’m especially pleased with the “Desktop control pod”, into which I can plug my Motorola Droid. I am using a Cabledrop cable organizer to help keep the pod handily at the edge of my desk without falling off. I will also look into getting the Motorola Droid Multimedia Docking Station to make an even nicer setup.

One note about these speakers, they have a glossy plastic finish which looks quite a bit cheaper than the flat black finish that the product photo shows.

The speakers have amazing sound quality for their price and easily rival most $90-$100 speakers. After looking for speakers to directly attach to my xbox and computer, these are the very best speakers I could find.
