The HP Pavilion dv4 seems to be a fine computer. I’ve had it about 2 months now and no complaints other than maybe the battery life before needing recharge, seems a little short to me, but than again this is my first laptop, so I’m really not that familiar with lengths on a charge.

I recently purchased this HP 14. 1 inch computer. I really like the laptop: its stylish look, and its size. The only thing I was not happy with is the prize after I realized that it’s basically an empty shell. Hardly any software at all, a lot junk software that you don’t really need like snapfish to get photos. But I only get Microsoft office for 60 days and then I have to buy the software or not have anything to write with! I wouldn’t have bought it if I realized sooner.

I’m not very happy with this purchase. It has trouble waking up from ‘sleeping’. It goes into a cycle of trying to turn on, then off–over and over again, and you can only get it out by holding the power key down for a minute and restarting everything. Not convenient. I’ve been on the phone with HP for the last 4 days trying to fix it–still not fixed. Additionally–the microphone is not functioning, even with HP tech trying to get it turned on. The speakers are terrible quality, as well.
I’ve had instances of the CD drive starting to make crazy amounts of noise-clicking and clacking away when there is a data cd in the drive that i’m not accessing at all.
Also, the keyboard has taken to randomly inserting the cursor in paragraphs above where I’m actually typing. I will probably return this computer.
