    @you54222 it is pirated lol
    Windows XP is for applications that cant be run on Windows 7 64 bit
    windows xp takes only 10 gb of space and i have a 500 GB hardrive with an external 500 Gb hardrive so space is not a problem
    ubuntu 9.10 takes only 10 gb as well

    If it was pirated, I would simply ignore you, do you really need 3 Operating Systems in your Hard Drive? I mean you can delete Windows XP, that’s all I know.

    also you can dual boot
    i triple boot UBUNTU 9.10, Windows 7 Ultimate x64, and Windows XP x86
    *cough not pirated

    Windows allways pretend to be the first one in every way on computing OS. The MacOS X have every one of those “new” things that came with this crap Microsoft OS. Windows don’t work properly and will never do. MacOS is the best OS ever made. But windows users don’t know about it. So let’s keep this way ’cause crackers won’t create viruses and other craps to jeopardize our dear MacOS. Windows sucks.

    I didn’t know that Apple compresses its files…. :s.. but still… I prefere the MAC os..

    Thanks, your response was very informative :)

    Ok somebody give mes some advice. I want to go back to XP because a lot of software don’t work (mostly NHL ’99) in Vista and I just like XP better. Should I get XP or Windows 7?

  • MaximusCerberus writes:

    @you54222

    It should support the same games as either of those Systems, my friend. I haven’t run into a single issue with any game so far. Not one. And I’ve tested games as far back as 1997.

    Which games are giving you issues?

    This is in direct contrast to an OS like..say, Snow Leopard, which Apple boasts as having a very small installation size.

    Since there’s barely anything to Snow Leopard, that isn’t surprising…..but the REAL shocker is that Apple utilizes compression technologies to achieve that small size.

    And we all know that compression of data is NOT a good thing, unless you intend to send ZIP files across removable media or the Internet.

    @ Hedioucha

    Windows 7 doesn’t suffer from software bloat, no. It does take up about half the space. I created a C: partition at 50GB, and Win7, together with all my installed programs (a LOT of them) has only gobbled up about 25GB of that drive. That’s pretty significant.

    Vista was “Okay,” but it’s confusing architecture and shoddy memory management system made it impossible to love. Windows 7 is pretty much the polar opposite of Vista, despite how closely they resemble one another.
