I am planning to pre-order a Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade download. I wasn't sure if I bought one product key if would work on more than one computer.

Windows used to be 1 copy per processor, but with the dual and quad core changes Microsoft have decided to offer a version which can be used on more than one machine.

I think the option is only available for the Ultimate version and again it is only a maximum of two physical machines!

All I could find was this from Microsoft:
    http://bit. ly/UEnk9

Which is currently blank (7 Oct 2009) but is there for when their lawyers have finished the fine print.

Roll on 22 October when we can see it ourselves.

Normally they’re tied to one computer.

That’s why they do things like the family upgrade three pack they’re putting out in a couple weeks.
