Even though the speakers specifically state that they can be used with a PC, they were not magnetically shielded and messed up the display screen on my monitor.

After reading all the rave reviews I couldn’t wait until these speakers were delivered. I bought them to replace the Altec Lansing speakers I had temporarily pirated from my PC to hook up to my new HDTV. What sold me was the remote capability so I could mute or adjust volume and bass/treble without walking to the speakers and doing it manually. The setup to the TV was easy using a RCA/earphone jack adaptor. The cables between speakers, as others have said, are too short. The initial sound was okay but the controls on the subwoofer are cumbersome. The remote doesn’t work well and I have been unable to increase the volume above a low/medium range using either the remote or manually. Luckily my PS3 Blu-Ray has a volume increase adjustment that I can use when watching DVD’s. I am concerned also about how well these are shielded as the short cables make it necessary to place close to my DVR expansion drive. The 10 year old Altecs with a subwoofer sounded as well, also, but I need these for my PC. I would just swap these and use the Eagles for the PC but am concerned again about the shielding and not having a remote for the TV. I will continue to try to get the volume adjustment and remote to work but if I can’t I will return these and look for something better.

Pros: These speakers look great and have good sound with plenty of bass, especially for the price. I love it when I can feel music.

Cons: They stopped working the day after I received them. The remote also didn’t work that great, which makes adjusting levels is inconvenient, since the controls are woofer-mounted. Some of the buttons didn’t work at all. The cords are also a little short—they don’t allow much flexibility if you’re putting the woofer on the floor, which I assume most do.

Overall: I liked these speakers until they quit working for no reason after very moderate (volume) use. This may also have had something to do with Amazon’s poor packaging job, but regardless, I had to return them and am looking for something else.

    1) Value for Money
    2) Good Mid Range and Bass
    3) Good Looks
    4) Light Weight.
    5) Can use only the 80% of the volume range for good Voice quality.
    6) SHORT length of Speaker Wires.
    7) The quality of Wire is poor. A connector would have been better than hard wiring. 8) Poor Remote Range.

I just got these today and they blew me away. Not only do they look good, but they sound amazing. I’ve had other sets ranging from $20 to $150, and these are by far the best I’ve come across. And if that can’t get any better, they also look good. They have a digial screen on the sub and the two 3″ mids on each speaker makes them look powerful. They also come with a remote. 100% satisfied.
