Well my sister and I got two of these virus 09 and her computer is full of virus and it was a total mess she even had her wallpaper remove and had some virus instead. I myself have also a labtop but i still havent installed mine since i still have the trial subscription for the internet security one so i still dont need it. So anyways my sister installed on her lab top and it worked and worked smooth all the virus’s were gone and it was working much quicker. But something happen were she couldnt open microsoft word or do some other things now it worked before she installed this so am not so sure if it was the antivirus thats the only reason i give this a 3 everything else was great

In spite of buying the CDROM edition, Norton REQUIRES you register the product, including your address, and stays in perpetual nag mode until you do. Steer clear of Norton Antivirus if you value your privacy and I would recommend choosing another antivirus product that has more respect for the privacy of their customers.

i started with the 2007 version of this product but recently upgraded to the 2009 version. As soon as I upgraded, my computer would freeze everytime it started up. Coincidentally, my mother upgraded to the 2009 version and the same thing happened with her computer. So obviously, there are some kinks in the software.

Besides that, norton antivirus is one of the biggest hogs of system resources out there, it’ll make your computer lag like you couldn’t believe. Also, over 50% of the market is using this product, which is an invitation to makers of viruses to test their bugs out on norton antivirus before they release them, meaning that there’s a possibility norton won’t be able to stop a newer virus

This is why I replaced norton with ESET Nod32 antivirus. . . it’s light and quick and has done the job for me for the few months I’ve had it. My mother is now also using ESET nod32 and says her computer is faster and running smoother.

Although norton does a good job protecting, do yourself a favor and opt for another antivirus program.

I bought Norton Antivirus 2009 and install it on my Windows Vista computer. Then 1 week after I install it, I browse some websites and one of the website infect my computer with a Trojan. Norton didn’t detect it at all yet my browser was mess up. I did a scan with Windows One Care online scanner and it found a family of Trojan.

I called Symantec support asking for help. But instead for improving their Antivirus and helping me, they ask me for $100 removal service! I deny that and hang out the phone but they call me back threatening me that my computer will destroyed by tomorrow.

However,,, this is only a single annoying trojan and so my computer survive until now and the trojan is already removed with a free spyware remover.

Yes it did install – OK. That’s the only reason it got 2 stars not one.
Mine main system was working fine until Norton AV 2009 (I have not used Norton software since the 90′s. ) I thought I’ll try it again for the first time. Probs. after probs. , I am going to reinstall my system again MINUS Norton AV 2009 and reinstall AVV and we will see if it’s the software or the hard drive. . . BUT I’m thinking it Norton AV 2009 is the prob. I have another partition with Ubuntu/Linux . . Yes I know why are you using Windows XP pro? Because of 90% of all software is written for Windows. I am playing “King Bounty the Ledgend” Side note: great game 4. 5 stars, (I’m TRYING to play King Bounty)
super quick save game(s) bat file, save the bat file in the {drive letter}:Documents and Settings%%user%%My DocumentsMy Games

    echo
    copy “Kings Bounty” H:King_backup
    copy “Kings Bounty$save*” H:King_backup$save
    pause
    echo off
