I purchased this product 3 weeks ago, I had problems with the activation code. After two Emails to the technical support, I still have not had a reply.
I suggest you purchase Spy Sweeper, I hear the support is there when you need it

I too purchased the product. It will not activate when you are in a network with a firewall. I e-mailed the company but no response.

I obtained the trial by downloading, then purchased online and activated it; all was easy and quick to do. The software then was able to remove a nasty worm that AVG (which I otherwise like) was unable to do. That’s the good news.

Then, it also identified two programs as a threat which I had purchased, installed and want there because I use them and they aren’t a threat. I didn’t realize this right away because the software also didn’t bother to alert me that it had identified my sofware and moved it to quarantine. . . I learned of the problems when I tried to use my software and found bizarre things happening. It was difficult looking around the Spyware Doctor’s GUI to figure out where it logged the quarantines. There are numerous different “tabs” each with several tabs, one of them called “Results”. . . so after looking through all the “Results” tabs I found two of them reporting the deletion of my programs that I want. One of them I was able to select and put in the ignore list. The other result had no such ignore list option and it took me an hour to find an ignore list elsewhere in the program.

Unfortunately, the software ignored the ignore list and kept deleting my software. Even worse, quarantine has a feature to restore a program, but immediately after I restore a quarantined program, SD identified the software as a threat and put it back in quarantine! Grrr.

Additionally, the GUI has some bugs, such as GUI controls inappropriate grayed out when they should be active, nonresponsive GUI controls, tray icon keeps disappearing when making use of Windows FUS (Fast User Switch) feature, and many other little glitches.

Tech support was responsive and offered suggestions for a couple of issues I first brought up. Then the avalanche of bugs and misfeatures became apparent and I asked for a refund (30 day money back guarantee), which they were quick to grant me without any commentary.

This software may be fine for basic computer users who don’t do much of anything too sophisticated. If your software use is advanced enough that you need to try messing with the settings within Spyware Doctor, you may be in for some unpleasentness.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! Spyware Doctor is a bad product sold by an invisible company. Do not buy it! The product will not run on most computers because it is a memory hog. It froze my machine and I spent 2 hours with a technician trying to re-boot. You cannot remove the software, you cannot get technical support nor any response from them. They have the right to charge your card once a year regardless and you cannot stop them. Bad, Bad, Bad!!!

Purchased this based off the PC Magazine award and very happy. Spyware is one of those things that you just have to keep searching for a solution if one product doesn’t fix it, 95% solution is not enough. After numerous free and one other paid products happy to find Spyware Doctor was enough that I didn’t need to keep searching anymore. Only downside is that I still need to keep running another virus product, looking forward to being able to have solutions all from one company.
