I got my set from Amazon yesterday and returned it the same evening. I was hoping to use it with laptop in the office. Fiddled with it for a while and was severely disappointed. Very low volume output (yes, I know how to adjust all the various volume settings on a PC). The fit of the DIN-like plug that connects the two smaller speakers to the subwoofer was very poor. When I turned up the volume over just very low (in a quiet office) the speakers made crackling noise instead. In addition to be being very low volume, the sound was also very murky and muffled. When I tried to adjust the tone with the control on the right speaker there was tremendous screeching. I have three or four different similar two speaker/subwoofer set-ups at home with various kid and spouse computers. This set was in a league of its own. Worst I have ever seen.

I wasn’t expecting a whole lot from these speakers, but they are actually very good, especially when you consider the price. Much better sound than my $150 speakers from Creative, probably because the Creative speakers do not include a subwoofer. I like that an MP3 player can be plugged into them without unplugging the speakers from the computer, but you need to supply your own cable for that, they don’t include one.

the free shipping was faster than I thought, and the music quality is great for a small room. You can adjust the volumn and tone both, it’s great and I love it~

The clarity is excellent, however right out of the box the sub woofer didn’t work. I’m returning to amazon for refund.
