    Ok, so now I know for a fact that my phone will outperform a netbook.

    Changing my background slows down my system?

    can you play a DVD on it if you have a disc drive and software for it?

    @jackyirishboy No, the operating system wouldn’t come with that, unless you count Wordpad. The manufacturer is the one who would decide if it gets preinstalled with a word processor. But I wouldn’t hold my breath for anything more than a 30 day trial.

    @chamon24

    Well, if you’re going to conduct a review, make sure it’s accurate and factual and maybe people like me wouldn’t need to be so “pedantic”.

    you should go look up the meaning of “pedantic” and get out more.

    @Vieyram I know. But we shouldn’t have to install a third party program (which breaks the EULA, from what I’ve heard) just to get a feature that’s been available in just about every other operating system made in the last 2 decades.

    If you wish to see a netbook running smoothly and faster with a heavy addition of eye candy effects… just install any Linux distro and then load compiz and you will see the difference your machine will do now whatsoever you wish and you will be able to modify anything and use your netbook to its full capacity and at full throttle! Give it a try! Ubuntu is a nice way to begin with or Linux Mint! Google it and you will see, even look for compiz here in YouTube and you will see! :)

    What’s worse is that installing a program that allows you to change it actually goes against the EULA.

  • GIMPMan1972 writes:

    By the way. The ‘only allowing 3 programs to run’ is not a myth. That feature was actually fact until Microsoft changed it in the final release.

    You should go look up the meaning of “myth”, since you’re clearly wrong.

    @seyfarth I think you can run a different monitor. It just wont use both the monitor and the netbook’s built in screen at the same time.

    The one thing that I can’t get past for 7 Starter is the Desktop Background thing. I know it doesn’t really make an impact in the big picture, but it just bothers me that I can’t change such a small thing. It’s mind boggling that they’d remove that feature. Does that feature really use up all of the system’s resources? I mean, seriously, what the fuck is the point of removing it?
